Hours per week: 40+
Required Education or Formal Training: High school diploma or equivalent.
Required Years Experience: 1-3, but experience in electrical or IT Fields may be allowed in place of direct security experience.
Required Licenses or Certifications: Valid driver’s license, industry certifications an advantage, prior electrical or IT training a plus.
Job Description: SSC Service Technicians maintain, inspect, repair and test fire alarms, burglary/intrusion systems, fire alarms, access control systems and surveillance systems.
Main Responsibilities: SSC techs must be able to inspect, troubleshoot and repair all residential and commercial systems we support. He or she must test, verify and update all data to the monitoring system, correctly and completely establishing service when the customer call is complete. The tech must show the customer how the system works, including all day-to-day elements of operation and the consequences of false alarms. Ability to assess field situations and respond to them independently is key.
Required Skills and/or Knowledge: Top customer service skills and commitment.
Independent onsite troubleshooting ability is a must.
Good listening, written and verbal skills are also important.
Computer skills and network knowledge are important.
Control panel programming skills are valuable.
